BLACK AND WHITE

In 1985 Nico begins to be interested in photography and opens a photo studio in Grado. His island, the lagoon and portraits are his favorite subjects.

In the decades of his activity, Nico is especially proud of his black and white photos of the “real” Grado and its inhabitants. They show the winding streets and squares of the Centro Storico or the austere life of the Graisani – the fishermen, the old women and men, and families in the struggle for daily survival at and with the sea and in the lagoon.

Nico loves black and white photography because – as he himself says – :

“it allows him to play with the right light and to breathe life into what he sees through his creativity. “
